Here’s the entry schedule you must memorise:

  • 11:00 AM — Entry to exam centre begins
  • 1:30 PM — Entry to exam centre closes (No late entry permitted)
  • 1:15 PM — All candidates must be seated

  • 2:00 PM — Examination begins
  • 5:00 PM — Examination ends

The exam will be conducted across 552 cities in India and 14 cities abroad, for over 22 lakh registered candidates.

Reaching early is not optional — it is essential. Plan your travel to arrive at least 60–90 minutes before the centre closes.

What to Carry on Exam Day

Candidates appearing for NEET UG 2026 must carry: a printed hard copy of the admit card along with a self-declaration undertaking, a valid original photo ID (Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, passport, or driving licence), passport-size and postcard-size photographs, and a personal transparent water bottle.

A digital copy of the admit card on your phone will not be accepted. Only a printed hard copy will be accepted at the gate.

What NOT to Carry

This is equally important. Carrying restricted items can result in disqualification.

Students must strictly avoid carrying stationery, mobile phones, communication devices, Bluetooth gadgets, smartwatches, calculators, other electronic items, and any written or printed material.

Leave your phone, smartwatch, and any study material at home. The exam hall is strictly monitored with high-sensitivity metal detectors and biometric checks.

Exam Pattern at a Glance

The NEET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in offline mode and will include 180 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The total paper is of 720 marks, and all questions are compulsory. Candidates get 4 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for every wrong response.

Biology carries the highest weightage, making it the subject to prioritise in your final revision days.

Dress Code — Don’t Ignore This

The NEET dress code for female candidates allows light-coloured clothes with half sleeves and minimal accessories. Avoid jewellery, high heels, or heavy outfits to ensure smooth entry and compliance with exam guidelines.

Male candidates should also wear light clothing with half sleeves where possible. Avoid shoes with thick soles. Simple, comfortable clothing ensures the frisking process goes smoothly and quickly.

Last 4 Days — Smart Revision Strategy

With May 3 arriving fast, here’s how to use the remaining days wisely:

Day 1–2 (Today & Tomorrow): Focus exclusively on Biology — NCERT Class 11 and 12 chapters are your best resource. Go through diagrams, definitions, and important processes.

Day 3 (May 1): Revise Chemistry — focus on important reactions, periodic table trends, organic chemistry basics, and formulae.

Day 4 (May 2 — Day Before Exam): Do not study new topics. Glance through formula sheets, take a mock test in timed conditions, sleep by 10 PM, and keep all documents organised the night before.
