This is not merely a government job notification. The application window is now open. The deadline is July 3, 2026. This guide provides every piece of verified information you need to apply correctly, prepare strategically, and compete successfully.

The Strategic Significance of AIIMS CRE Recruitment

AIIMS CRE is not an ordinary government recruitment — it is a centralised, merit-based examination that fills non-faculty administrative, technical, nursing, and support positions across the entire network of AIIMS institutions through a single, unified process. A single application, a single examination, and institute-wise seat allocation based on merit and preference — this architecture makes AIIMS CRE one of the most efficient and fair large-scale government recruitment systems in India.

The 28 participating institutions include: AIIMS New Delhi (the original and premier campus), AIIMS Bhopal, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Patna, AIIMS Raipur, AIIMS Rishikesh, AIIMS Nagpur, AIIMS Mangalagiri, AIIMS Rajkot, AIIMS Bathinda, AIIMS Bibinagar, AIIMS Deoghar, AIIMS Darbhanga, AIIMS Guwahati, AIIMS Gorakhpur, AIIMS Jammu, AIIMS Kalyani, AIIMS Madurai, AIIMS Raebareli, AIIMS-CAPFIMS (Delhi), LHMC & associated hospitals, and ICMR and Pasteur Institute of India, among others.

Educational Eligibility: Post-Group-Wise Requirements

The educational requirements vary significantly by post group. Candidates must verify their specific eligibility against the post they are applying for in Annexure-I of the official DRA (Detailed Recruitment Advertisement) available at aiimsexams.ac.in.

For Group B Technical and Administrative Posts:
Graduation in relevant discipline from a recognised university. For technical posts (Lab Technician, Pharmacist, etc.): graduation plus relevant diploma or B.Sc. in the specific technical discipline. For Nursing Officer: B.Sc. Nursing (4-year) from a recognised institution plus registration with the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council.

For Group C Posts:
MTS and Attendant posts: Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognised board. LDC posts: Class 12 plus typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer. Cook, Safaiwala, and similar posts: Class 8 or 10 pass with relevant experience.

Age Limits:
Age limits are post-specific and measured as of the closing date of online registration, i.e., June 30/July 3, 2026. Most Group B posts cap at age 30 years and Group C posts cap between 18–30 years, though higher caps apply to some technical and supervisory roles (up to 35 or 40 years).

Standard government age relaxation: OBC candidates receive 3 years’ relaxation; SC/ST candidates receive 5 years; PwBD candidates receive 10 years over and above the applicable limit.

Application Fee: Category-Wise Breakdown

The application fee is charged per group applied. Candidates applying to multiple groups must pay separately for each group. Payment can be made via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. The examination fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, even if the application is rejected for ineligibility.

Important exception: SC/ST candidates who actually appear in the examination receive a refund of their application fee to the source account after declaration of results.

For exact fee amounts per post group, consult the official DRA at aiimsexams.ac.in — fees vary by post group level and are specified in the notification.

Selection Process: Three-Stage Assessment

The selection process includes CBT, qualifying skill tests (where applicable), institute choice and preference, document verification, and joining as per institute rules. Skill tests (where applicable) are qualifying; final merit depends on CBT and passing the skill test.

Stage 1 — Computer Based Test (CBT): July 25–27, 2026

The CBT tests candidates across relevant knowledge domains for their applied post group. The examination is in English (and Hindi for applicable posts). Negative marking applies: negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer.

For administrative posts: General Knowledge, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and Computer Knowledge. For technical posts: subject-specific knowledge (nursing, laboratory science, pharmacy, etc.) alongside general aptitude components. For Group C posts: General Awareness, Basic Mathematics, Hindi/English language, and Reasoning.

Stage 2 — Skill Test (Where Applicable):

Typing tests for LDC and PA posts; stenography tests for Stenographer posts; practical laboratory assessments for some technical posts. Skill tests are qualifying — passing is mandatory but marks do not count toward final merit ranking.

Stage 3 — Institute Choice, Document Verification, and Joining:

Candidates who qualify CBT and skill test are ranked by CBT merit. They then exercise institute preference, subject to seat availability at their preferred institutes. Document verification follows before final joining formalities.

Preparation Strategy: 39 Days to CBT (June 16 to July 24)

With the CBT scheduled for July 25–27, 2026, candidates have approximately 39 days from today. The following domain-specific strategy is calibrated to this timeline.

For Administrative and General Posts (LDC, MTS, Assistant):

The examination tests General English, General Knowledge (current affairs and static), Quantitative Aptitude (arithmetic: percentage, ratio, profit/loss, SI/CI, time-work-speed), and Reasoning (series, analogies, coding-decoding, blood relations, directions).

Week 1–2: Foundation building — revise arithmetic fundamentals and complete one current affairs compilation for January–June 2026. Focus particularly on health and medical sector news (AIIMS-related developments, government health schemes, public health milestones) which appear disproportionately in AIIMS-specific examinations.

Week 3–4: Practice 50 questions daily per subject in 15-minute sessions. Build speed and accuracy simultaneously — negative marking means an accuracy below 80% produces lower net scores than conservative attempt strategies.

Week 5–6 (Final Sprint): Full-length mock tests every alternate day. Analyse wrong answers meticulously. Revise weak areas on non-test days.

For Technical Posts (Nursing Officer, Lab Technician, Pharmacist):

The CBT weights subject-specific knowledge heavily — nursing science, pharmacology, laboratory procedures, or the relevant technical discipline constitutes the majority of the paper. NCLEX-format nursing questions (for Nursing Officer) and GPAT-style questions (for Pharmacist posts) are standard preparation resources.

Additionally, General English and Basic Computers will appear — allocate 25% of preparation time to these two sections to ensure you do not lose easy marks.

Why AIIMS CRE-5 Is One of 2026’s Most Valuable Recruitment Opportunities

A career at AIIMS offers distinctions that few government recruitment opportunities provide. AIIMS institutions are at the intellectual frontier of Indian medicine — staff work alongside India’s most distinguished clinicians, researchers, and educators. For nursing and technical professionals specifically, the clinical exposure and professional development opportunities at a major AIIMS campus accelerate career growth in ways that private hospital employment rarely can.

The job security, pension, medical benefits, and social prestige of central government service combine with a work environment of genuine intellectual quality. AIIMS CRE-5’s 1,484 vacancies across 28 campuses represent one of the largest annual AIIMS recruitment drives — and one of the finest government career opportunities available to candidates across qualification levels from Class 10 to graduation.

Apply before July 3, 2026. Verify eligibility in Annexure-I. Do not wait for the final day.
